Central Business Services is no stranger to this digital world we now live in. Digital & Cloud technology has brought substantial improvements to the way we work, freeing up more time to provide advice and support, with the intention of ensuring our clients are more profitable and tax efficient.
Clients used to bring boxes and boxes of invoices and receipts to us (some still do and we’re happy with that). However, there are ways to improve the process. Our clients can now scan documents, take pictures on their smartphones and even get suppliers to send invoices directly to us – leaving more time to concentrate on their business, or just relax.
When a document needed to be signed the client would have to sign a physical document, either by coming into our office or receiving a copy through the post. Now it can be sent to them via our Client Portal and signed electronically, freeing up even more time. We have had signed accounts and tax returns signed and back to us less than five minutes after completion. A further 10 minutes and the documents can be electronically filed with HMRC and Companies House. A far cry from the days it took just a few years ago.
Whilst the digital world has great benefits it can also pose a challenge in maintaining a human touch to protect and build relationships with clients.
That is why our team at Central Business Services regularly touches base with clients to find out how they are getting on, if they have any queries or questions and if there is anything else we can help them with. By regularly being in contact with our clients it ensures a faster, more responsive, service – and happier clients.
Because information and records are more up-to-date and accessible, we can react to and advise on situations and problems which arise more quickly. Frequently we can identify issues even before our clients do.
The trend is towards a closer working relationship with more emphasis on personal and timely advice and support. This can only be a good thing for local businesses.
