Starting a business
You’ve got an idea for a business and you want to get going. What do you do? Where do you go for advice? We are a good place to start. We offer you a Free initial consultation and we don’t limit it to an arbitrary 30 minutes or hour.
Your first stage should be to have your idea evaluated by someone who is experienced and independent but who will have a vested interest in your business succeeding. We have many years experience in looking at businesses. We aren’t going to compete with you (unless you’re setting up an accountancy firm). We want your business to be successful because if you are successful, we are likely to earn more from you.
Our experience of many businesses can help you get your plans, costings and pricing right ensuring that your business has the very best chance of success.
Once you’ve got your plans as you want them, you need to implement them. Again, we can help. We can advise you on the structure of your business and help in negotiations with lenders if required. Your basic administration systems will need to be set up to enable you to keep fully in touch with the way your business is performing.
There are quite a few legal and taxation requirements you will need to comply with. We can help with these.
Once your business is up and running, we will continue to support you. Not only will we help you produce your annual accounts and tax returns but we can help with payroll, VAT, Companies House returns and all of the other regulatory tasks required of a business.
You do what you want to do and feel comfortable doing. We can do the rest for you. So, if you are happy doing your own VAT Returns, you do them. If you want us to do them, we will. Similarly, do your own payroll if you wish. If not, we’ll do it for you. Flexibility and a desire to help you is what we aim for.
And, unlike many other accountants, we encourage you to call us with any queries or problems. We appreciate that you will probably have a lot of questions and uncertainty during the early stages of your business and we want to help. We prefer you to ask (and you’re not being a nuisance) rather than guess and make an expensive mistake.
Coming to talk about your new business is free. Most accountants offer a free initial consultation but we don’t limit our free initial consultation to an arbitrary 30 minutes, or whatever. Our initial consultations often last several hours and may even span two or more visits. By investing time in you at the beginning we hope to achieve the rewards in the future.
